What is reflexology
Reflexology is a science that is based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands, ears and other body surface areas that correspond to organs, glands and other body parts. The practice of foot reflexology involves the use of the fingers and thumb to exert pressure on the reflexes of the feet as a form of acupressure. Foot reflexology is a gentle yet powerful way to help many conditions. It quickly induces a feeling of deep relaxation which helps to reduce anxiety and stress. By relaxing the body, and improving blood and nerve supply reflexology helps to treat many imbalances whether hormonal, digestive, reproductive or circulatory.
What happens in a reflexology session?
First you will receive a warm epsom salts foot bath after which you will lie on a massage table, while specific compression acupressure techniques are applied to complete a full treatment of both right and left feet.
I practice the original Ingham Method of Reflexology. This means that you will receive a deep and thorough acupressure treatment on all points in your feet.
